our saturday morning.
i was reading the other day through one of my old journals. i love being able to flip through my former train of thoughts. my former self in what ever was the number one thing on my own mind years/months/days ago. while doing so, i read something that i'd forgotten about. before i begin a new journal, i find a quote, phrase, or painting that describes my life at that particular time and i glue it, tape it, or write it on the cover page of my journal. for this particular time frame i specifically wrote:
God gave us memories
that we might have june roses
in the december of our lives .
-Jamie Barrie
that we might have june roses
in the december of our lives .
-Jamie Barrie
how true it is. this past month i'd been yearning to hear words that spoke here. right here to my heart. and this morning as i sat there cuddled in my pjs with my eternal love and listened to such inspired words, i knew the Lord was ever so aware of the very intricate details of my life. that i would need these words to snap me out of the december and launch me into the beautiful spring (and then june) of my life.
i love spring.
i love general conference.
i love being reminded.
reminded
of beautifully
important things.
after the 2nd session, onto our bi-annual all exclusive ladies night! so i grabbed micah man and we ventured off to see just how far we could stroll until the puffy gray clouds of rain caught up.i love being reminded.
reminded
of beautifully
important things.
while on our stroll, i noticed two things: dag, i need a new bra (these ladies do NOT take jumping up and down too well---nursing sports bras? do those even exist? and...what the itchidge!?!--not used to this at.all--says the once-extremely-flat-chested ex-long distance runner) AAAAND i am so out.of.shape! it was quite sad really.suckin wind como loca.
BUT ...all in all a fun little stroll.
picked up some daffodils for the ladies (micah's choice). wondered how bizarre it would be for any foreigner visiting utah at precisely 5:45 pm. (what the influx of suited men walking in the same direction?!on a saturday!? and nothing but ladies, ladies, and ladies w/ babies everywhere from 6-8pm?! really, i cant help but smirk when i occasionally spot the ONE guy who braves the stares as he dines his lady at such a time as this;)...only in pa-row-voh!). sighhhh. and... we made it.
late as usual, but we arrived and enjoyed moments like these:
- arriving and witnessing the waiter man strategically attempt to shift us to the back "for the noise...i mean the babies."
- pic 3 -beautiful little miss isla marie. she reads to him and he loves
- finally being surrounded by such pillar of women. refreshing.i love my girls!
- watching little mr. kam bams, micah man , and isla decorate the floor w/ food (little sneakies!)
- and lastly, (pic 4) the generous offers to have our pics taken by every waiter in the house. ;) ladies, we still got it!
well needed day to treasure.let the spiritual feast continue.i heart general conference weekends.
