First and foremost, can I just say I count myself as one of the luckiest women alive!
Today was a gorgeous day that only got better as the day progressed. Beginning with breakfast in bed goodness prepared by my one and only marcus! my fav: eggs with extra cheese, homemade pancakes and delicious fresh watermelon! topped off with some delicious chocolate milk and a savory beso ... :) what more can a woman ask for? Easy like Sunday morning indeed as we simply cuddled in bed and spoke with our mothers. My mom beat me to it and actually called me first! Mi primer dia de las madres. What a beautiful moment to hear such endearing words de mi propia madre. Que honor... gracias mami.
the day consisted of plenty of things... first off this:

this has been my pride and joy for the past 2 months to the day, guys. an orchid. yes...me, maybelline who cant manage to ever keep anything alive, has taken up the courage to somehow purchase and attempt to keep alive such a delicate being as an orchid. that is... all until today as i had, on the low-low, snuck away to plan my young women's lesson during Sunday school. yeah... i shoulda known. the Lord definitely likes to put me in my place esp. on Sundays when im not where im supposed to be. Needless to say I managed to accidentally break the gorgeous 5 budding stem...then proceded to have a melt-down in the car on the way to give my ill-prepared lesson to my little beehives. i was seriously heart broken. so much work to have it simply end like that.
Anywho... so for the rest of the day I proceeded to bring my broken yet reclipped orchid everywhere with me as a means of somehow savoring every bit of its remaining beauty.
So we managed to take these :
...
...
yes.i am aware of its cheesy-ness but marcus insisted he practice his photographing skills. :)
it was a great opportunity for mothers day pics. hence these:
and these
oh and not to mention...
these. yes. i love him dearly!
highlights of my day:
- savoring the morning and day with my best friend/ eternal love
- expressing our love to the phenomenal women in our lives
- hearing my brother's voice --- it meant the world to hear from him
- mother's day dinner with the driessens
...including me and Olivia's apple pie cravings and fixins! - my new herb grow kit and my pretty yellow cast iron teapot
(best gifts EVER!--from my sweetie to appease my yearnings to grow something meaningful and ---as our teapot instructions remind me --- "enjoy my many tranquil moments contemplating the true meaning of life.")
... - and lastly... the knowledge that there exists inside of me a divinity that is beyond my own comprehension. that as a daughter of God I have the power to create, nurture, and foster a love that will permeate through generations. that together with the love of my life, we were promised certain blessings before we came to this earth and that those promises are and have been presenting themselves in the form of this precious life inside of me. that with every movement my little prince makes I am able to feel such grace and beauty. i am reminded of the responsibility ...the TRUST that my Father in Heaven has in me...in us. what a tender mercy indeed.
feliz dia de las madres to all of you gorgeous and phenomenal women. may you know of your own divinity and power.
